New Year's Eve at the Sterks
We celebrated the New Year at the Sterks. Kerri and Chris brought guitar hero and we all got a chance to try our our musical talents. The guitar ended up in the garage later for dance party time. It was nice to bring in the new year with good friends. Thanks to Annie and Dan for having Kaleb over night! Hope 2009 is a great year!

post Holiday blues, but wait...
Kaleb was very sad to see the tree go and we kind of wanted to keep it up a little longer too, but picked a dry one this year. From day one needles were falling like crazy. Despite the disappointment, Kaleb received a package from Aunt Amy that day with some climbing wall holds and was excited all over again. He also tried out his new leather jacket while riding on his motorcycle in the house. Things looked a little better after that.

Childrens Museum with Misty and Kids
Misty and I decided to do an outing with the kids in honor of the Holidays. We spent a morning at the Childrens Museum and had a blast. It was pretty busy because of all of the people off work for the Holidays but it was a good time. We played with trains (of course), bubbles, went shopping, played in the sand and even did a little dress up. Kaleb loves it there!

Christmas with Grandma's
Grandma Sophie and Grandma Wiggles came for the night a few days after Christmas. We had a game and drink night and caught up. The next morning, the Sterk family joined us for breakfast. They are good friends of ours and the grandma's and it was wonderful to be able to share the Holidays with them as well. Kaleb and Kaya love to play together and wasted no time finding some fun toys to play with. Everyone enjoyed the neck warmers that Grandma made.

Christmas with Sobesky's (grandpa/dad)
We Spent the day after Christmas at Grandpa and Grandma's house. We got to see Uncles Mike, Joe and Matt and have present time all over again! Kaleb was in heaven. Grandpa had a cool train display under the tree and Kaleb was obsessed with it. He kept saying "I can't touch it" as he reached for the train cars. We had a great time.
Look Amy's there too, on the phone with Julia.

Christmas Morning
We had a wonderful Christmas morning at home. Kaleb was really into opening presents this year. I think he finally understands that there is something fun inside. He got a bunch of train cars and tracks and we set up his train table again. Tony made me a beautiful bedside table. I was very surprised. He is a great carpenter. Julia and Andy were with us for presents. Andy and I surprised Julia with a new digital camera. She has been asking for one for a while and was very excited. Merry Christmas 2008!

Holiday gatherings with Friends

Holiday with the Neighbors
Have I mentioned that I love our neighbors, because if not... :) We have a wonderful community of friends on our street. I enjoy spending time with them, the kids all get along and we just have so much fun. We had dinners at Shawn and Maria's and everyone brought a dish to pass. The Lasagna was awesome and great desert followed. It's nice to share the Holidays with our dear friends and to reconnect after our separation by the weather. It's funny how much we all see each other during the summer and how little in the winter. Anyway... good times!

Kids Christmas gift exchange
Our friends exchanged names and had a breakfast Christmas gathering at Steve and Melissa's house. The kids played with the trains, played music and danced, make a few crafts and of course opened a few presents. Kaleb got a transformer toys that he loves. The kids all had fun and I was even able to snap a quick group shot before Kaleb decided that he was done. That kid is so hit or miss with pictures. I think it's the age, or just the personality.

Holiday cookies
The Green's bought a new house and while Annie and Dan slaved away on house work, the kids came over and helped us make some yummy Christmas cookies. Noa, Avery and Kaleb decorated 2 dozen sugar cookies. We taste tested a few and the girls took some home for their tired out parents. Nothing brings on the feel of the Holidays like making some cookies with your pals!
