Halloween at Home

We had a few friends and family over before trick or treating and then headed out with our gang. The kids loved to yell "Trick or treat" and were very good with Thanks you's as well. Our friends Misty and Tom brought their son's Aquin and Griffin and Stephanie and Matt brought Olivia. Grandma's, Grandpa and Aunties were there for the fun as well. We had a great night!

School Haloween Party

We went on a parade through the admin Bldg at the school office. The teachers, offcie personnel and the kids had a great time. I think Kaleb got more treats during his day time trick or treat then at night. One of Kaleb's classmates dressed as the HULK. The other kids were not really sure what they though of his costume. There were a few scared kids. The mom's all thought it was pretty funny. Happy Halloween!

Hulk got really into his character and lurched around and growled. A few of the kids were pretty scared.

Making pumpkins into Jack-o-lanterns

We carved our pumpkins just in time for Halloween. The little one is from our garden. It was the only pumpkin on our large vine of many flowers. It was great to be able to turn our hard work into decoration and we saved a few of the seeds to try again next year.

Amy is home!

Amy came home for a visit and to spend some much needed time with our family. She recently finished her massage therapy certification and also used her new skills to give some relief to friends and family. She took Kaleb out to The Ford Museum and the grounds and quite a few other outings. Here are some of the pictures.

Trip to the pumpkin patch

Daddy joined Kaleb and his class to the pumpkin patch this year with school. They played with the animals, played in the hay and picked their own apples and pumpkins.

fall is here but...

I rescued the last of my beautiful summer flowers for a kitchen bouquet. Also couldn't resist the dogs in the leaves and Kaleb and daddy goofing around.

"I want to see the lobster mom"

So Monday morning Kaleb and I were sitting in the car ready to start our busy week. The battery had died over the weekend and I was starting to get frazzled. Kaleb said, "I want to look at the Lobster, Mom" and I said what are you talking about...

A 6-7inch Praying Mantis had chosen our garage to spend a few days. We were pretty impressed and shared a peek with as many people as would humor us. Unfortunately she (I am pretty sure it was female) decided to move along after her 3 day stay. Here are a few pictures.

Dinner with Grandpa and Grandma Judy

We had a hang out night with grandpa and grandma. We played with Kaleb's toys, took and walk and had dinner. A nice and relaxing catch up night.

The Tie Dye stuff

The end result was pretty good. I let the stuff sit for about 24 hours and cut the rubber bands and washed the stuff. Some of the colors lightened a little, but overall the colors stayed pretty bright. A few shirts were rolled funny and ended up with funny white spots where the color didn't reach but over all it was a success! Lots of fun. :)

Kaya's birthday part one

Happy 3rd Birthday Kaya! It's amazing how fast time flies when you are having fun... Our dear friend Kaya turned 3years old and we celebrated at the Sterk house with a Tie Dye party. The kids decorated shirts with fabric markers, and helped with the dyes. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun as well. The outcome was wonderful!

Kaya's party part two

After the Tie Dye fun, we opened presents and had some super yummy cupcakes. Kaya dressed up in her princess costume and Kaleb and Kaya did a little dancing for us. We gave Kaya a book that had pictures of the kids from birth on. It turned out very cute and the kids both loved to look at pictures of themselves. We had a great time at your birthday party Kaya! We love you soooo much!

Smiles just because

During the business of the tie dye party, Tony and Kaleb managed to play a little peek a boo game and capture some really cute and genuine smiles. I have a hard time getting these on film and thought they were to cute to keep to my self. :)
